FIXED TERM CONTRACT (3-6 MONTHS): JOHANNESBURG
R 20 000 – R 25 000 CTC per month
POSITION SUMMARY
Our client, a growing organisation in the Human Resources industry, is seeking a highly experienced and motivated HR Manager for a 3 to 6-month contract. The ideal candidate will have over five years of expertise in HR technologies and payroll systems and will be responsible for managing complex HR functions, including employee relations, policy development and performance management. This role requires someone who can effectively address workplace concerns, foster a positive and compliant work environment, and develop policies that enhance both operational efficiency and employee well-being. Additionally, the HR Manager will lead initiatives aimed at improving employee performance and improving organisational productivity. Reporting directly to the Founder and CEO, this position offers a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the company’s vision and long-term success.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in Sage 300, Simple Pay and other relevant payroll/HRIS systems.
- Strong experience in policy drafting, benchmarking, and policy development.
- Previous experience in working with project-based or creative teams, is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Experience working with Technology integrations (HRIS, ATS, Learning Management Systems).
- Strong Attention to detail.
Duties include:
- Draft, revise and implement HR policies and procedures that support organisational goals and comply with legal and regulatory standards.
- Conduct periodic reviews for clients and the company, benchmarking policies to ensure alignment with industry best practices.
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process for employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with relevant local tax laws.
- Help maintain organised records and databases.
- Provide support in addressing employee grievances, ensuring they are handled with sensitivity and confidentiality.
- Support talent acquisition efforts by advising on hiring best practices, reviewing contracts and ensuring fair and compliant onboarding processes.
